The final six players returned to the Main Stage at noon and an action-packed final table saw some friendly needles and big laydowns. In the end, Matt Higgins. the most decorated player in the field, earned his fifth WSOPC ring, a seat in the Casino Championship and $167,058.

"This is ring five," he said. "We had control for most of the day - we caught a very friendly punt early in the day that gave me the lead over everybody."

"I got lean on them and make them worry about ICM," he added. "I applied pressure most of the time and when we got down to three-handed, Dale (Roesel) was putting pressure on me a lot. I forgot how good he was."

"When BJ (McBrayer) was short, we were so deep and I had a hand that I couldn't lay it down," he said. "It was a real friendly table, everybody battled. We weren't going to rub anyone's nose in any bluffs."

Higgins and a couple of his final tablemates left the tournament area to go share a dinner. Higgins plans to play the WSOPC Pompano Beach Main Event and then set up shop at the entire Cherokee series at it's his home casino.
