Robert Hankins opened to 1,200 in middle position and found four calls heading to the flop of      . The small and big blind checked, Hankins bet 3,300, BJ McBrayer folded, the button folded, Trey Bartlett called from the small bind and the big blind mucked.

"Do you know his name?", Hankins asked our floor reporter.

He shook his head no and Hankins said, "We're about to."

The turn came  , both players checked and the river came  . Bartlett fired out 10,000, Hankins readjusted in his seat and gave it some thought before folding.

Five players went to a flop of      , the small blind checked, Jesse Lott checked, David Baize checked, Steve McClusky checked and Chad Hall bet 2,200. Everyone folded but McClusky, the turn came   and McClusky checked again.

Hall bet 4,000, McClusky thought about it, looked a litte sticky but then tossed his cards back to the dealer. Hall moved up to 20,000 in a pot he needed.

Everett Lawrence limped from under the gun. Lamont Wilkins raised to 2,000, Hamid Izadi called and Chip Ervin came along from the big blind. The flop came      , action checked to Izadi and he bet 3,500. All active players folded and Izadi stacked up north of 60,000 after the hand.

We found Jesse Lott moving all in on the river on the board of           into a pot of about 20,000. His opponent folded and Lott looks to be around 57,000.

Local player Jamie Strickland was short stacked and moved all in preflop. Jeremy Wright called from the big blind, turned up     and Strickland was in bad shape holding    .

The board ran          , Strickland hit his three-outer on the turn is over 10,000.

Larry Riggs opened the action from middle position, Matthew Higgins called behind and Chip Ervin popped it to 3,200 to go. The blinds released, both players called and the flop came      . Riggs and Higgins checked, Ervin bet 3,300, Riggs called but Higgins mucked.

The turn came  , both players checked and the river came  . Riggs wasted little time betting 7,000 and Ervin let his hand go.

The bottom seating area with the high numbered tables is full and Main Event players have started filling the four tables on the second level. The tournament clock shows 106 entrants at this point.

There have been a couple busts but for the most part, the players are still rubbing their eyes and getting caffeinated.

We found a sizable pot building between Jerry Henry and Donnie Phan. They were on the turn on a board of        , Phan bet 2,000 and Henry called after some thought. The river came  , both players checked and Henry turned up    .

Phan held his cards up, sighed and mucked with vigor as he mumbled, "My kicker..."

It's still real early for Friday poker tournament. The tournament room was packed late last night with a mega satellite and the largest nightly tournament they've hosted yet. Another 20 players have trickled in since cards hit the air and we expect the room to fill out by the first break of the day.

The first of two starting flights for the $1,700 Main Event kicks off at 11:00am and the format allows for a maximum of three bullets per flight (initial entry & 2 re-entries). The field will play 17 40-minute levels, or 10% of the field, with a 60-minute dinner break after Level 9. Registration remains open until the beginning of Level 9.
