After taking an early hit to his chip stack, Shaun Deeb has rebuilt a good chunk thanks to a player he spent a lot of time with on Day 1B, Tom Frank.

With approximately 60,000 in the pot on a turn board of     , Deeb bet 40,000 from the big blind and Frank called.

The river was the   and Deeb now bet 140,000. Frank didn;t love it, commenting on the "17 eights" that Deeb could have, but he "couldn't beat the 18th".

Ultimately he called and Deeb indeed showed an eight, rolling over   . Frank shook his head, complimented Deeb's hand, then pushed forward the call before lobbing his cards to the muck.

Shaun Deeb - 775,000
Tom Frank - 501,000

With approximately 80,000 in the middle already on a flop of    , after Barbara Rogers led from the small blind for 75,000, Krishna Jammula moved all in for 459,000 from the big blind.

Corey Richardson then moved all in with both players covered from middle position. Rogers folded, and jammula happily turned over his cards to face off against Richardson for a potentially huge double up.

Krishna Jammula:
Corey Richardson:

Richardson's overpair was crushed by Jammula's set, and after the    runout, Jammula had earned a double up to over a million chips.

Krishna Jammula - 1,160,000
Corey Richardson - 218,000

Ioannis Pentefountas moved all in for his last 105,000 from middle position and was called by Anthony Russo in the cutoff.

Ioannis Pentefountas:
Anthony Russo:

Pentefountas was in great shape to double up especially after the first four board cards came     , but the the not so lucky   fell on the river, giving Russo a set to eliminate his Canadian opponent.

Ioannis Pentefountas - eliminated

Joe Porto became a favorite in the tournament, entertaining each table he was at with his banter and making friends with his new 'mentor' Shaun Deeb.

His run has come to an end and he shared the details with WSOP.com.

Porto called a middle position raise from Gilberto Taveras in his small blind to see a flop of     and checked. Tavares bet 25,000 and Porto called.

The turn brought the   and Porto checked again. Taveras now bet 40,000 and Porto check-raised to 100,000.

Taveras called and the   fell on the river. Porto now moved all in for 210,000 and Taveras called with the nuts, holding    for a rivered flush, while Porto held    for a turned set which was in great shape until the river.

The win boosts the WSOP ring winner's stack into seven figures, while sending the likeable Porto to the rail.

Gilberto Taveras - 1,100,000
Joe Porto - eliminated

A massive cooler has just made Day 1A chip leader Scott Hosbach to the rail and made Giyeon Han a huge chip leader.

The pot was being pushed to Han as the WSOP reporting team arrived.

According to the table, Han raised to 18,000 under the gun and was three-bet to 51,000 by Matt Matros. Hobach flat called on the button, and Raymond Ezzie who was in the big blind said that he folded pocket tens.

Han then moved all in for roughly 700,000. Matros folded, later saying he had pocket jacks, but Hosbach called.

Giyeon Han:
Scott Hosbach:

The board would run out clean for Han making Hosbach an unlikely early elimination and making Han the first over a million and by a good margin.

Giyeon Han - 1,500,000
Matt Matros - 425,000
Raymond Ezzie - 230,000
Scott Hosbach - eliminated

Chip Leader Shaun Deeb and Turning Stone Circuit Ring Winner Tom Frank Will be in Day 2 of the Main Event

After three record-setting opening flights in the WSOP Circuit $1,700 Main Event, just 112 hopefuls remain, with Shaun Deeb topping the star-studded remaining field with 897,000 chips.

WSOP bracelet winners, Circuit ring winners, and the defending champion are all still in the mix as play continues down toward the final table Sunday back here at Turning Stone Casino Resort.

Among those ring winners is the player entering the day in second place, Day 1C chip leader, Vaios Triantafyliou (781,000), with Day 1A chip leader Scott Hosbach not far behind with 743,000.

There are plenty more owners of WSOP jewelry in the top ten alone, with ring winner James Campbell (722,000) sitting in 6th place, PLO ring winner Gilberto Taveras (717,000) in 7th, and three-time bracelet winner Matt Matros (545,000) in 10th.

And that’s just a few names at the very top of the heap. Bracelet and ring winner Jesse Lonis is lurking not far off with 490,000 chips, five-time ring winner Ryan Eriquezzo has 355,000 chips, and as mentioned, the defending champion, Joseph Rice is still in the field with a bit more work to do at 192,000.

When the players return to the Turning Stone Event Center at noon, they will begin in level 17 with blinds of 4,000/8,000/8,000 as that was when Day 1B concluded after a hard stop with ten percent of the field remaining.

Following level 17, level times will extend to 60 minutes in length with 15-minute breaks after every second level and a dinner break at a yet-to-be-determined time.

WSOP.com will be on the tournament floor to bring you continued live reporting of all the action from the pinnacle of what’s been a tremendously successful series here at the beautiful Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York.
