Day 1B Ends
Saturday, January 28, 2023 12:12 AM Local Time

Another full day of action occurred during Day 1b of the Horseshoe Tunica $1,700 Main Event with the hard stop being reached in Level 16 with 12:41 remaining.

The second of three flights drew 200 entries to bring the two-day total thus far to 283 and has generated a prize pool of $428,745 with one starting flight left to go.

Of those 200 entries tallied today, just 20 players remained when chips went into bags and Daniel Johnson (pictured above) found himself atop the counts with a stack of 624,000.

Johnson was the only player above to eclipse the 600k mark with Monster Stack winner Steven Mc Kuin almost hitting that mark with 582,000, which was good enough for second.

Two-time ring winner Cody Stanford ended the night third in chips with 483,000 while Hyun Lee finished in fourth with 388,000.

Rounding out the top five stacks is four-time ring winner John "Johnny Run Good" Gallaher who utilized his max late-reg bullet and turned it into a 381,000 stack.

Much like Day 1a, the final level of the night saw an onslaught of casualties, with players such as Matt HigginsRonnie Young, and Hunter Cichy among those to be eliminated before play concluded for the night.

Several other familiar players will also be joining the aforementioned five. Seven-time ring winner Maxwell Young (374,000), ring winner Walker Miskelly (344,000) ring winner Aaron Lasater (342,000), Elanit Hasas (248,000), and three-time ring winner Hamid Izadi (204,000), are just a few more of the players to add their names to the Day 2 roster along with the 9 to have already advanced from Day 1a.

The final starting flight will begin tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. local time and all those who have yet to find a Day 2 birth will have two bullets they can fire to try and do so.
