Albert Peterlin struck gold for the first time as he laid waste to his opponents in one of the final turbo events at Harrah’s Cherokee.
Peterlin topped a field of 396 entrants to win the $26,744 top-prize in Event #13: $400 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo, which took nearly 11 hours to complete.
“I’m ecstatic,” Peterlin said with excitement after his win, “Without any exaggeration, this is honestly a dream come true.”
Peterlin has been learning tournament style poker and it seems to be paying off as he was able to walk away a winner with his first WSOP along with an automatic bid to the Tournament of Champions.

The turbo-style ring event ran from 396 entrants to just 10 remaining competitors.
Pat White is currently in the chip lead as the only player over one million while ring winner Frank Wyville sits in second with 860,000
Both Nick Blackburn (855,000) and ring winner Steve Buell (320,000) make their second final table appearances of the series.

Another one-day event for a shot at gold presents itself today.
Starting at 4:00 p.m. Event #13: $400 No-Limit Hold'em will run alongside Flight A of the Main Event and is scheduled to finish by nights end.
Blinds will be increasing every 20-minutes, making for a speedy structure. Players are allowed to re-enter an as many times as they would like, up to the start of Level 9, which marks the end of registration.
Here is a breakdown of Ring Event #13:
- This is a one-day tournament
- Players will start with 15,000 in tournament chips.
- There will be 10-minute breaks after levels 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, and 24.
- This is a re-entry event. If a player is eliminated during registration period that player may re-enter same event.
- Registration will be open until the beginning of level 9.
- This is a WSOPC “Ring” Event. The Winner will receive a seat into the 2022 Tournament of Champions.
