Day 1D of Event #2 has concluded with 78 players who survived the final starting leg.

When chips hit the bags, John Cornelius was the player laying claim to the large stack in the room. Blankenship finished the day with 831,000.

The finish was good enough for second overall just behind Nicholas Bond (846,000), as they were the only two players to bag over 800k.

Here is a look at the top-five chip counts from Flight D:

1st: John Cornelius - 831,000
2nd: Brian Jones - 775,000
3rd: Glen Poitinger - 746,000
4th: David Dowdy - 642,000
5th: Gary Bolder - 612,000

The last starting flight of Event #2 drew 1,524 entries and added another $502,920 to the prizepool, bringing the combined total to over $1 million. 

Day 1D will reach its end after 19 levels have been played, or when just 5% of the starting field (76 players) remain, whichever comes first. Currently, there are players 597 remaining.

Flight D, the final of the four starting flights, will get underway at 10 a.m. The field currently stands at 1,894 entries thus far with one to go.

All starting legs will play through 19 thirty-minute levels or cease play once the starting field is reduced to 5% of players remaining.

Players will be allowed unlimited re-entry during the registration period, which remains open until the start of Level 9 for all starting flights.

Here is a quick rundown of Flight D:

  • Players will start with 15,000 in tournament chips.
  • There will be a 15-minute break after levels 4, 8 and 12. There will be a 10 min Break after levels 16, 23 and 26.
  • This is a re-entry event. If a player is eliminated during registration period that player may re-enter same event.
  • Registration will be open until the beginning of level 9.
  • All flights will play 19 levels or down to 5% of the field on Day 1, whichever comes first.
  • Players will play into the money on each flight.  
  • Remaining prize pool not awarded on Day 1 will carry over to be merged with all flights for Day 2.
  •  All flights will merge on Sunday, February 20th at 12:00 PM. In the event the tournament is unable to reach a conclusion on Day 2 the Tournament Director, in his sole and absolute discretion, may add an additional day if necessary.
