Congratulations to Michael Zaino, winner of Event #5: $600 No-Limit Hold'em for $21,050 and his first career World Series of Poker Circuit ring.

Michael Zaino took his final table chip lead and went wire-to-wire to win his first ever World Series of Poker Circuit ring in Event #5: $600 No-Limit Hold’em. The newly crowned champion took home $21,050, doubling his overall career earnings.

The final table came together quickly on Day 2 after 10 players came back on the final table bubble. Zaino held the chip lead and never looked back. The Wethersfield resident defeated Stephen Friedrich heads up and denied Andrew Lauer his fourth Circuit ring.

Day 2 began with just 10 players and is now down to the official final table of nine. 

Michael Zaino leads with 784,000 in chips, followed by Olivier Lacoste (693,000) and Andrew Lauer (564,000) to round out the top three stacks. 

All remaining players are guaranteed a payout of $1,695, with the top spot paying out $21,050 and a coveted gold World Series of Poker Circuit ring. 

Lauer won Event #2 earlier this week and is looking to win his fourth career ring, putting himself in solid contention to win the title of Casino Champion. Lacoste has one ring and is going for another after he won this very same event just two seasons ago.

Just 10 players remain from the 156 entries in Event #5: $600 No-Limit Hold'em.

Leading the field on the final table bubble is Michael Zaino with 748,000 chips. He is followed by Olivier Lacoste (669,000) and Event #2 winner Andrew Lauer (539,000) to round out the top three stacks. 

Day 2 resumes on Wednesday, August 21 at 1:00 p.m. and will conclude once a winner is crowned. 

The final 10 players are guaranteed $1,389 but all eyes are on the $21,050 and a gold World Series of Poker Circuit ring for first place.

The prize pool sits at $80,340 and will pay out the final 24 players with a min-cash worth $859. First place will take home $21,050 along with a gold World Series of Poker Circuit ring.

This is a two-day event, with Day 2 starting on Wednesday, August 21 at 1:00 p.m. and then concluding once a winner is crowned.The seating assignments will be posted late tonight after play concludes.

Event #5: $600 No-Limit Hold'em begins at 2:00 p.m. with $40,000 guaranteed.

This is a two-day event, and will play down to a winner on Wednesday, August 21 with Day 2 beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Here are the details for this event:

  • 20,000 starting stack
  • 30-minute levels up to level 24, 45-minute levels thereafter
  • Unlimited re-entries
  • Registration closes before the start of Level 13 (9:30 p.m.)
  • Big blind Ante
  • 60-minute break at the end of Level 12 (8:30 p.m.)
  • Day 1 concludes at the end of Level 19 (1:30 a.m.)
  • Day 2 is on Wednesday, August 21 at 1:00 p.m.
