 Clarence Prevost

Clarence Prevost is the champion of Event #10 at Choctaw Durant, defeating a field of 216 players to win his first WSOP gold ring. His performance also earned him the top prize of $17,132 and 50 points toward the race for the Global Casino Championship.

“I’m happy, I feel so blessed. I really really wanted to win one. I really thought I wouldn’t make it this far,” Prevost said moments following his victory. The 36-year-old came into the Final Table 8th in chips with a measly 100,000 and was able to battle through short-stack adversity. “I never gave-up, I felt like it was my time. I picked the right spots and didn’t bluff-off my stack like I liked to do. I just waited my turn. I believed in the cards when they came to me.”

After a few double-ups to put him back in contention, path to victory was not easy. Heading into three-handed play, competition was elite. Prevost faced-off with two-time ring earners Robert Irby and Paul Sokoloff, who was coming off a runner-up finish the night before. By the time it was all said and done, it was Prevost who was the last survivor, deeming him the newest ring winner.

Throughout the night Prevost had immense support from surrounding friends. “I have to give a shoutout to my rail and give a specific shoutout to my boy Kurt Haiss, he is the guy I run with and he’s always backed for me. The entire rail was cool.”

The father of two plans on spending time with his family who are joining him at the Oklahoma property Thursday afternoon. Poolside margaritas will taste a lot sweeter after the biggest score of his career.
