Event #11: $250 No-Limit Hold'em (1 Day)

Mark Barrientos, of Wichita, Kansas, has won Event #11 at Circuit Hard Rock Tulsa, $250 No-Limit Hold'em (1 Day). The victory was worth $11,348 and gives Barrientos his first career gold Circuit ring.

Barrientos rode a classic final-table heater to what turned out to be a fast-paced rout, as he busted several of his foes on the way to the win. "I just kept busting them out after they thought [their hands] were good," he said.

Local player Eric Fountain finished second for $7,015, while Fayetteville, Arkansas' Alex Young took third for $5,106. 11-time Circuit ring winner Maurice Hawkins finished fourth in his third final table of the series, picking up enough Casino Champion points in the process to move into the lead in that race.

Barrientos was both elated and relieved to have claimed that first Circuit ring, which is the largest poker victory of his career. "I've been trying for, like, three years to win one," he said. "It's hard. I'm just crazy right now. I've never won a ring." Barrientos' ring-winning performance comes in just his third recorded Circuit cash.

Barrientos credited Daniel "Duma" Lowery with some coaching that improved Barrientos' game, and this win came less than a week after Lowery claimed his own seventh career ring, earlier in this series. "He's coached me, all the way through. He's been great in getting me there.
