The first of two starting flights in the 2019 World Series Circuit Main Event at the Bicycle Casino has come to a conclusion after 15 levels of play.
There were 280 players who put up the $1,700 to enter the first flight of the tournament and only 66 players remained by the end of the night. The players that survived will return for Day 2 at 12:00 PM (local time) on Tuesday along with all of tomorrow’s Day 1B survivors.
Gold Bracelet and gold ring winners littered today's field. Some of the Bracelet winners to enter today’s flight include Ben Keeline, Jared Jaffee, Warren Sheaves, Kevin Eyster, Anthony Marquez (141,500), Nipun Java (58,000) and three-time winner Ben Yu.
Glen Cressman, from Boca Raton, FL is leading the surviving players. Cressman was also was among the chip leaders for the latter part of the day. In the last level of the night he took out a three opponents by hitting a one-outer to skyrocket over 500,000. After winning a few morel pots Cressman ended the night with 696,000.
Previous ring winners from this series who were able to find a bag include, Paul Camby (189,000) winner of Event 1 and Gladys Landegger (217,000) winner of Event 2.
Other notables to finish the day with chips in a bag include Stewart Scott (362,500), Stephen Song (271,000) Justin Harvell (194,500) Bill Fagerbakke (149,500), Sohale Khalili (195,000), Jared Griener (121,000), Brett Bader (84,500) and both of the Massey brothers, Aaron (109,000) and Ralph (64,500).
Not everybody was fortunate enough to survive the day, with many familiar faces hitting the rail before the final hand of the day. Wendy Freedman, Taylor Black, David Paredes, Adam Hendrix, Jeff Trudeau, Nikolai Sears, Marc Macdonnell, and nine-time ring winner Ari Engel.
Those players are able to take another shot at the Circuit Main Event title tomorrow on Day 1B. The second and final starting flight gets underway on Monday morning at 12:00 PM local time. Anybody who didn't bag chips today is eligible to take part in Day 1B and everybody is allowed one re-entry.
The players who survive Saturday's action will merge with today's survivors to play Day 2 on Sunday at noon. They will play into the money on Tuesday and towards a final table. A winner will be crowned on Wednesday evening.
