The first of two starting flights in the 2019 World Series Circuit Main Event at the Bicycle Casino has come to a conclusion after 15 levels of play.

 

There were 280 players who put up the $1,700 to enter the first flight of the tournament and only 66 players remained by the end of the night. The players that survived will return for Day 2 at 12:00 PM (local time) on Tuesday along with all of tomorrow’s Day 1B survivors. 

 

Gold Bracelet and gold ring winners littered today's field. Some of the Bracelet winners to enter today’s flight include Ben Keeline, Jared Jaffee, Warren Sheaves, Kevin Eyster, Anthony Marquez (141,500), Nipun Java (58,000) and three-time winner Ben Yu.

 

Glen Cressman, from Boca Raton, FL is leading the surviving players. Cressman was also was among the chip leaders for the latter part of the day. In the last level of the night he took out a three opponents by hitting a one-outer to skyrocket over 500,000. After winning a few morel pots Cressman ended the night with 696,000.

 

Previous ring winners from this series who were able to find a bag include, Paul Camby (189,000) winner of Event 1 and Gladys Landegger (217,000) winner of Event 2

 

Other notables to finish the day with chips in a bag include Stewart Scott (362,500), Stephen Song (271,000) Justin Harvell (194,500) Bill Fagerbakke (149,500), Sohale Khalili (195,000), Jared Griener (121,000), Brett Bader (84,500) and both of the Massey brothers, Aaron (109,000) and Ralph (64,500). 

 

Not everybody was fortunate enough to survive the day, with many familiar faces hitting the rail before the final hand of the day. Wendy Freedman, Taylor Black, David Paredes, Adam Hendrix, Jeff Trudeau, Nikolai Sears, Marc Macdonnell, and nine-time ring winner Ari Engel. 

 

Those players are able to take another shot at the Circuit Main Event title tomorrow on Day 1B. The second and final starting flight gets underway on Monday morning at 12:00 PM local time. Anybody who didn't bag chips today is eligible to take part in Day 1B and everybody is allowed one re-entry.

 

The players who survive Saturday's action will merge with today's survivors to play Day 2 on Sunday at noon. They will play into the money on Tuesday and towards a final table. A winner will be crowned on Wednesday evening.

The river is a brick. Song has to pay up 55,800, to be exact and his stack is chunked down a good margin.

The hijack raises to 7,500 and Scott Stewart three-bets to 26,500 from the button. Both blinds fold and action is back on the hijack. He tanks for a minute, then calls.

In a four-way all in pot Glen Cressman holds pocket kings against Ace King, Wendy Freedman's pocket aces and the short stack's six four. 

The flop comes Jack high with Freedman's aces still in the lead. It was short-lived however when the last king in the deck spiked the turn. 

The river was a brick and Cressman's one outer set of kings held to eliminate all three of his opponents and take a massive chip lead.

Song turns up    and the button says "You've got an ace? Nice hand" as he tables   

The flop comes     and Song takes the lead. The turn   and river   make it official as Song winds up with a full house to eliminate his opponent.

The lojack announces "raise" while putting out a 5k chip. Directly to his left in the hijack, Mateus Lessa calls. Robert Rothstein, in the small blind, asks "five thousand." The amount is verified and he calls. The big blind completes preflop action with a call of his own and there are four players to the flop.

The dealer lays out    . It checks around, bringing the    turn. It checks around again. The board completes with the  .

For a third street in a row, all four players check. "Two," announces Rothstein who is first in the order, flipping up   . The big blind mucks. The lojack mucks. Rothstein's, a bit surprised, pleas for one more muck.

Lessa looks at his cards, smiles, then lets them go to the dealer and Rothstein picks up the pot with the lowest pair in the game. "Never in doubt," Rothstein says while gathering his chips. "Every check gave me more confidence."

Registration was shut down at the start of Level 13 and the final numbers for Flight A are in.

Day 1A of the Bike Main Event drew 280 entries, generating a prizepool of $424,000 prizepool so far. The number of entries is up 56 from from the first starting flight of December's Bike Main Event.

There are currently 93 players remaining, moving into Level 14. Play will cease at the end of Level 15 and any remaining players will bag up their chip stacks.

On a flop of     with 22,000 in the pot, it checks to Adam Hendrix on the button who moves all in for 15,900. 

Anthony Marquez calls from under the gun and Neil Scott thinks about it shortly before letting it go. 

Hendrix tables    but needs to get lucky against Marquez's    top set. 

The board comes,  ,   and Marquez's set holds to eliminate Hendrix. With registration just closing Hendrix will have to wait till tomorrow to re-enter.
