Another 11 levels are in the books for the Horseshoe Hammond Main Event and at the end of Day 2 only 17 remain of the 204 who started the day. The leader at the end of Day 2 is Derek Hanauer who picked up a surge in the last few levels of play, eliminating multiple player to grab the chip lead and finish the day on top. 

Along side Hanauer are plenty of other notable players still left alive including one of the World Series of Poker Circuit's most sucessful player, Josh Reichard. Reichard has 11 WSOPC rings and over $700,000 in cashes at the World Series of Poker but has yet to capture a victory in a WSOPC Main Event yet. His best finish in a WSOPC Main Event to this point is 8th and he has a good chance to improve upon that here in Hammond with a strong finish on Monday.... READ MORE.

Hamid Izadi opens to 85,000 from early position, Brek Schutten calls from the hijack and Peter Kelly calls in the big blind. The flop comes down    , action checks to Schutten who bets 125,000 and only Izadi calls.

A   falls on the turn, Izadi checks to Schutten, he bets 300,000 and Izadi says "I would call if it wasn't the last hand of the night," as he mucks    face up, sending the last pot of the night to Schutten.

Scotty Mio opens to 90,000 from early position, Jose Montes moves all in from the small blind for 785,000 and Mio calls, players turn over their hands.

Action folds around to Jose Montes in the small blind, he moves all in and Bryan Skreens calls his 340,000 from the big blind, players turn over their hands with Skreens at risk.

The flop comes down    , giving Skreens two pair but he is well behind as Montes flops broadway. Montes will need to dodge Skreens boat outs to secure the pot and the   on the turn was not one. A   lands on the river, giving the pot to Montes with his straight, sending Skreens out the door in 19th place.

The flop is     and Munjal checks. Hanauer makes it 95,000 and Munjal calls. 

On the   turn, Munjal checks once more. Hanauer makes it 150,000 this time. Munjal moves all in for right around 300,000. Hanauer calls putting Munjal at risk.

Brek Schutten opens to 70,000 from late position, Keith Thurman three-bets to 200,000, Schutten calls and the dealer fans out     on the flop.

Action checks to Thurman, he bets 125,000, Schutten calls and a   comes on the turn. Schutten checks the turn to Thurman who fires in 350,000 and is quickly called by Schutten.

The   hits the felt as the river card and both players check. Schutten turns over    for a pair of snowmen and Thurman announces "Good hand," as he chucks his hand into the muck, sending the massive pot to Schutten.

Before the hand, Jose Montes triple dog dares Michael Hudson to move all in for a third time in a row. 

"People back in the day used to do anything for that," Montes says. 

Action folds to middle position where John Lizzio raises, making it 70,000. Michael Hudson takes a look at his cards, thinks for a second, then completes the dare and moves all in for roughly 660,000. Action folds back to Lizzio who thinks for a bit, then calls.

Kenny Felten was eliminated at the same time as Jason Herron on an alternate table and he recounted his elimination for us. According to Felten he moved all in with    for about 175,000 and Jose Montes called with   . The flop brought a jack for Montes and he held on to send Felten in the rail in 25th place. 

For his run Felten will take home $9,370.
