Richard Perkins has just earned his first WSOP Circuit ring, along with the biggest score of his poker resume.
He defeated 252 players to claim the the top prize of $20,374. ‘’I feel fantastic. It’s cheesy but I’d rather have the ring than the money, it’s kind of cool. It’s also my biggest score by far.’’
The 52-year-old poker player was modest in describing his win: ‘’You know, it’s all luck, so you gotta get your cards when you get them and anything could happen. I just got lucky’’. Perkins doesn’t play poker for a living, but he is passionate about it: ‘’I’m just an anesthesiologist who loves poker. I probably played here four years within the last eight years.’’
