Kennii Nguyen

Las Vegas poker pro Kennii Nguyen has claimed the fourth WSOP Circuit gold ring of his career by winning Event #12 at Circuit Thunder Valley, $400 Pot-Limit Omaha. Nguyen's victory was worth $10,295 and came in dominating fashion, as he came to the final table with more than half the chips in play and was never seriously challenged on the way to the win.

Nguyen, one of the most outgoing players on the Circuit, didn't mince words about his chances when he came to the final table with such a huge lead. As he saw it, he had it in the bag. "I'd played with only a couple of the others [at the final table] before, and I knew they had game. But they busted out early."

Nguyen has won four Circuit rings in total, but to him, some are more important than others. "This is my second PLO ring," he said. "It's the one I really wanted. It's really hard to get a PLO ring. I only know a few people who have multiple PLO rings." Nguyen earned his first PLO ring in the 2015-16 Circuit season in an event at Horseshoe Hammond (IN), outside Chicago.

Nguyen wants to go back there soon -- in fact, under his grey sweater, he was sporting a stylized Chicago-skyline t-shirt -- but about living there, not so much. "I just don't like the weather. But I feel bad for them," he added, referring to the recent blizzard that dumped several inches of snow across Chicago and points south and east.

The $10,285 winner's payday adds to Nguyen's solid career resume. He's amassed 42 WSOP and Circuit cashes, and has now earned more than $550,000 in WSOP events.
