Clovis, CA's Adam Dunkle has claimed the ring in Event #3, $400 No-Limit Hold'em Single-Entry, routing the final table on his way to earning his first WSOP Circuit ring. Dunkle came to the final table with the lead and quickly added chips to his stack, busting several of his remaining foes in a fast-paced finale.

Dunkle clinched the ring after closing out three-time Circuit ring winner Brett Murray in a hand where Murray moved the last of his chips in with   , and Dunkle quickly called with   . The flop brought all small cards, and an ace arrived on the turn to give Dunkle top pair and a lock on the pot and the win.

Santa Rosa, CA's Murray, who has won both a Main Event and a Casino Champion title at prior Circuit Thunder Valley stops, collected $6,302 for the runner-up showing. Alan Bittikofer, of Dublin, CA, finished third, earning $4,487. Orange, CA's Don Warner took fourth for $3,260.

Dunkle's Event #3 rout was keyed by a monster hand not far outside the money bubble. According to Dunkle, "I was already sitting on a big stack, three or four hundred [thousand], and a player opened in front of me for like 55,000. I had pocket sevens and I just flatted; I could afford to do it with my stack. The flop came ace, five, and I think a six. The other player checked and I checked too. The river was another ace; he checked, and so did I. The turn was a magic... seven, giving me a full house. The other player moved in, and I called. He had pocket eights. That gave me a huge stack."

From there there was no looking back, as Dunkle steamrolled the rest of the players on the way to the win. However, it's not Dunkle's largest WSOP cash; in an oddity, it's not even Dunkle's largest cash this series. He hopped in Event #3 this morning on a short night's rest, having finished fourth in Event #1, $400 No-Limit Hold'em $300,000 Guarantee, in this morning's early hours. Yet Dunkle showed little fatigue in winning this fast-pace, single-day event.

As for the winnings, the 45-year-old family man -- married and the father of three children -- had no specific plans. "It just gets added to the bankroll," he said. Dunkle is a general contractor by trade and a semi-pro poker player by pastime, though this week it's all about the poker. He's likely to be the early Casino Champion leader when the results are updated overnight, and he plans on playing a full slate of events, including the high-roller and main events later this week.
