Leslie Scearcy scores first ring in $250 no-limit hold'em single-day

A few years ago, Leslie Scearcy's best cash was in another event in Los Angeles, where she finished fifth for about $9,000. The player that knocked her out was tournament veteran Pete Hengsakul. In the early hours of Thursday morning, Scearcy got her revenge.

Scearcy defeated Hengsakul heads-up to win her first Circuit ring and earn $16,090. Hengsakul earned $9,955 for his runner-up finish and also earned this stop's Casino Champion title with his second runner-up finish of the series.

A complete report will be published as soon as possible.

The 350-entry field in the $250 no-limit hold'em single-day is down to its final 10 players and they have redrawn for seats at the unofficial final table. With one more elimination, the final nine players will receive credit for making an official WSOP Circuit final table.

There are about 10 minutes remaining in level 12 with blinds of 6,000/12,000 and a 2,000 ante. They are all guaranteed a cash of at least $1,225, but the eventual winner will walk away with the $16,090 first-place money.
