After coming into the table with the second-most chips and calling a big bluff for her tournament life, Lakisha Slaughter has taken down her first ever tournament.

Event 3 began at 4PM and finished in the early hours of Sunday morning. With $40,471 up top and a gold World Series of Poker Circuit ring, Slaughter found herself topping a field of 584 entries.

"I felt like I was due. It was my time" said a shocked Slaughter. She was down to just 125 in chips at the 50/100 level and was basically forced all in from the big blind and never looked back. The newly crowned champion defeated Michael Dempsey in a short heads-up battle, and he settled for a payday worth $25,032 for his deep run.

Results can be found here, and a full report will be posted on Sunday.
