Event #4
No-Limit Hold'em
Buy-In: $365
Total Entries: 136
Prizepool: $40,800

Wendy Freedman survived a four-hour long heads up duel to win her second career WSOP Circuit ring and the top prize of $11,423. Freedman outlasted 135 other opponents in Event #4: $365 No-Limit Hold'em. Her last opponent to fall, and the one she battled for four hours with was Michael Kenna. Kenna's consolation prize amounted to $7,061.

Freedman said that long heads-up battles are nothing knew to her and she has been part of many in the past, but unfortunately fallen on the wrong side more often than not. Entering today's play Freedman had five runner-up finishes on her WSOP resume, including one from earlier this season after she finished in 2nd place in the S. Indiana Horseshoe Main Event for $86,464.

"Everyone likes to win. That is why we play the game," said Freedman.

This marked Freedman's 41st career WSOP cash (12 WSOP, 29 Circuit) and with this cash her WSOP tournament earnings crossed the $330K mark.

Freedman has enjoyed recent success at the summer World Series of Poker at the Rio. She has made a final table in both of the past two summers. Last summer she finished in 4th place in the $1,500 Razz event for $38,847 and in 2016 she finished in 7th place in the Ladies event for $17,837. She'll be looking to make this summer her third straight with a final table appearance and said she hopes she wins it.

Final Table Results:

1st: Wendy Freeman - $11,423 + Circuit gold ring
