Event #3
No-Limit Hold'em Single Re-Entry
Buy-In: $365
Total Entries: 112
Prizepool: $33,600

Bill Hamilton has just defeated the 112-player field in Event #3: $365 No-Limit Hold'em Single Re-Entry to earn his first career WSOP Circuit ring and earn $10,079. Hamilton defeated Landon Brown heads-up. Brown, who made his first career WSOP Circuit final table last month at the Rio Circuit, had to settle for the runner-up prize of $6,230.

Hamilton made his way to this series all the way from Ontario, Canada.

"I love this place," said Hamilton about Planet Hollywood. "I have a casino host, so I come here three or four times a year."

Hamilton was also here last November to play in the first Planet Hollywood Circuit of the season. He cashed once during that series, finishing in 49th place in the $365 Monster Stack for $605. This victory marked Hamilton's eighth career WSOP cash (4 WSOP, 4 Circuit). This was Hamilton's third largest career WSOP cash. Hamilton recorded two five-figure cashes at the 2011 World Series of Poker. He finished 45th in the $1k Seniors Championship for $10,839 and 53rd in a $2,500 no-limit hold'em event for $12,860.

Hamilton only plays tournaments and is planning on coming to Vegas this summer to play in the World Series of Poker. Hamilton has never played in $10,000 Main Event, but said it is a bucket list item of his.

Hamilton defeated a tough final table that included Circuit regulars Kindah Sakkal (3rd) and Charlie Dawson (4th). Also reaching the final table was 2014 WSOP bracelet winner Chris Wallace (5th). Sakkal and Dawson are both chasing points to try to earn one of the 50 at-large bids to the 2018 Global Casino Championship. Dawson earned 27.5 points for his 4th place finish and Sakkal earned 30 points for hers 3rd place finish. They now sit at 165 and 162.5 points respectively, which is around where the bubble is expected to be. One more deep run from each of these players should ensure them a trip to Cherokee in August.

Hamilton is an energy manager from Hamilton, Ontario. As an energy manager his job is to find ways for industrial companies to save energy. Hamilton has done work for Caesars Windsor.

Hamilton plans on staying for the remainder of the series and is looking most forward to playing the monster stack, seniors event and the $1,675 Main Event.

1st: Bill Hamilton - $10,079 + Circuit gold ring

 Landon Brown

Day 1 is complete and Landon Brown leads with eight players remaining. Brown only has one WSOP cash prior to this one, but it was a good one. He final tabled and finished 3rd in the closing event at the Rio Circuit last month for $8,203.
