Ron Levy

All in a day’s work; 73-year-old local earns a big one-day score at Hard Rock

Those looking for a quick fix were in luck on Sunday afternoon at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood. The $365 Turbo event ran from start to finish, drawing a sturdy field of 295 entries.

It only took about 12 hours to decide a winner. Local grinder Ron Levy made the most of his day on the felt, winning his first ring and the top prize of $21,238.

Levy is a retired accountant from Lake Worth, just up the road in Palm Beach County. He gave up his career about 15 years ago, and that’s about the time he took to poker, too. This result is the second live tournament victory on his record and his largest result to date.

Although it’s the second event on the schedule for this stop, Event #2 was the first to conclude, making Levy the inaugural ring winner at this new venue for the WSOP Circuit.
