The final six players in the Global Casino Championship return today at 12 p.m. local time to play down to a winner on the televised stage at Harrah’s Cherokee. There were 124 total entries in the event, including nine direct buy-ins worth $10,000 each. The total prize pool reached $1,090,000 and all remaining players are guaranteed a payout of at least $52,274. The eventual winner will be taking home the top prize of $296,941 to go with a WSOP gold bracelet.

Alexander Lakhov starts the day as the chip leader with 1,463,000 and is the only player over a million. Lakhov got his free entry into the GCC by capturing the Casino Champion title at the WSOP International Circuit stop at King’s Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic.

Sean Yu, who won the Main Event at Planet Hollywood to qualify, comes into the day second in chips with 935,000. A wide gap separates second and third, and it is Jesse Cohen with the third-largest stack. Cohen qualified for the tournament by winning Casino Champion here in Cherokee and has 489,000 chips at the start of the final day of play.

The three short stacks have between twenty and forty big blinds each. One of them is Jason Mercier, who is the only remaining player who paid the $10,000 buy-in to play in this event. Mercier qualified by finishing in the top 100 in the 2016 WSOP Player of the Year race, a race in which he finished first with his two WSOP bracelets, four final tables, and 11 cashes in last year’s WSOP. Mercier has the fourth-largest stack at the start of play today with 364,000 chips.

Joshua Reichard received his entry into the event by winning Casino Champion at Horseshoe Council Bluffs and starts the day with 261,000. Dylan Linde won the Main Event at Horseshoe Hammond to qualify and comes into the day as the short stack with 208,000.

Play will begin with 14:23 remaining in Level 19 with blinds at 5,000/10,000 and a 500 ante and will continue until a winner is crowned.
