Day 2 Chip Leader Dylan Wilkerson
The penultimate day of the 2017 Global Casino Championship gets underway this afternoon at 1 p.m. There are 47 players returning to the tournament area and they are all chasing Dylan Wilkerson, who bagged the chip lead at the end of Day 1 with 218,200 in chips.
There were 124 players that registered for the event thus far, but registration doesn't close for eligible players until cards get int he air for Day 2. There were 115 players that were automatically entered after qualifying through either season-long points, a Circuit main event title, or a casino champion crown. They were joined by nine players that were eligible to directly buy-in for $10,000 because they finished in the top 100 of the 2016 WSOP Player of the Year race or won a ring during the 2016/2017 Circuit season.
Wilkerson qualified through a main event win at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles, CA and made the best of it so far, but has a long way to go before he can earn the WSOP bracelet that comes with the win.
Other notables still in the hunt include Jason Mercier, Mohsin Charania, seven-time ring winner Josh Reichard, five-time ring winners Cody Pack, Roland Israelashvili, Caufman Talley and Josh Turner. Turner made a deep run in this event last year after finishing third for $150,851.
They are scheduled to play 12, 60-minute levels or reaching the final table, whichever comes first. WSOP.com will provide live updates for the entire day as they move closer towards a WSOP bracelet and put the wraps on the 2016/2017 Circuit season.
