It is heads up to the flop of     and Staats continues for 1,600. His opponent calls and the turn brings the  . Staats checks, the button bets 3,000, and Staats calls. 

The river is the   and both players check. Staats tables    for two pair, tens and twos, with an ace kicker, and his opponent shakes his head before sending his cards to the muck.

Jason Mercier raises to 350 from middle position, the cutoff calls, Van Truong calls from the button, and Ravi Raghavan calls from the big blind.

The flop comes     and it's checked around to Truong. She bets 1,000, and everyone except Mercier calls.

All three players check the   on the turn, and the river is the  . Raghavan leads out for 3,000. The cutoff folds, and Truong goes into the tank. After thinking about two minutes, she folds, and Raghavan takes the pot.

With around 1,500 in the pot and the board reading    , Marcin Chmielewski had checked in the cutoff and Alexander Lakhov had a 1,000-denomination chip in front of him.

Chmielewski check-raises to 3,100 and Lakhov calls. On the   turn, both players check, and the river is the  . Chmielewski checks again and Lakhov bets 3,800. Chmielewski calls and Lakhov tables    for a rivered straight. Chmielewski shows    before sending it to the muck, and Lakhov win the pot.

After an early position limper, Garrett Riley makes it 350 in middle position. Raminder Singh calls in the cutoff, the big blind calls, and the initial limper calls. 

The flop comes     and it checks to Riley. He continues for 1,000, Singh calls, and the remaining two players fold. They go heads up to the   turn. Riley bets 1,500 and Singh calls again. 

Both players check the   river and Riley tables    for two pair, kings and nines. Singh shows    for missed straight and flush draws and Riley takes down the pot.

Brad Albrinck raises to 300 on the button, Jason Mercier calls in the small blind, and the big blind makes it 1,400. Albrinck calls and Mercier thinks for a little while and also calls. 

It is three ways to a flop of     and Mercier and the big blind check. Albrinck bets 2,175 and Mercier calls. The big blind gets out of the way and it is heads up.

The river is the   and Pearson checks again. Cordell tosses out a bet of 2,000 and after giving it some thought, Pearson puts in calling chips. 

Cordell tables    for aces and sevens with a king kicker, and that is good for the pot.

"Did he check?" asks Snyder.

The main attraction of the first Circuit stop of the new season gets underway on Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m. Day 1 of the 2017 Global Casino Championship kicks off and it's the only time someone can win a bracelet at a Circuit stop.

This is not an open event and players must qualify through one of a few ways. The main event winner and casino champion from every stop last season, both domestic and international, get an automatic free seat into the event. Also, the top 50 points earners from the 2016/2017 season get an automatic seat as well.

Players that finished in the top 100 from the 2016 WSOP Player of the Year race and anybody who won a ring at any Circuit stop throughout the 2016/2017 Circuit season are eligible to buy-in for $10,000.

There is $1 million added to the prizepool and last year, Said El Yousfi defeated 126 players to win a WSOP bracelet and $343,256. This is a three-day event with somebody taking home a bracelet on Thursday night. The final table will be filmed by Poker PROductions for television

Here are the details for this year's event:

  • Players start with 30,000 in tournament chips
  • Levels are 60 minutes throughout the entire tournament
  • Day 1 is scheduled for 10 levels
  • There are 15-minute breaks every two levels and a 60-minute dinner break after level 6
  • Eligible players are allowed to register up until the start of level 11 (start of Day 2)
