Josh Reichard

Event #3
No-Limit Hold'em Re-Entry
Buy-In: $300 (+$65)
Total Entries: 646
Prize Pool: $193,800

Josh Reichard becomes the seventh player in Circuit history to win seven gold rings.

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (April 3, 2017) -- Josh Reichard continued his dominance of this season's World Series of Poker Circuit by taking down the Horseshoe Council Bluffs' multi-flight re-entry event. He defeated a 646-player field in Event #3: $365 No-Limit Hold'em Re-Entry to earn his seventh career WSOP Circuit gold ring and third of the season. This victory is also the largest cash of Reichard's WSOP career. He earned $39,731 for outlasting the big field.

"It feels good. This is a big one," said Reichard. "The amount of money makes this one feel better. It is the most of all of my ring wins."

Now with seven WSOP Circuit gold rings, there is no question Reichard is one of the top Circuit players of all-time, but it's his performance on this year's tour that has really distinguished him from many of his peers.

Reichard's 2016-2017 Circuit resume consists of three gold ring victories, six final tables, 13 cashes and more than $150,000 in tournament earnings. Reichard has 49 career WSOP Circuit cashes dating back to 2012 and five out of his six largest Circuit cashes have come on this year's tour.

"I have been fortunate this year," said Reichard. "Three rings in year, that is crazy. I would have never expected it."

The path to victory in this event was a long grind. Day 2 lasted 15 hours long and the heads up battle between him and runner-up finisher Maxwell Young took nearly three hours. Reichard said that him and Young both played small ball during the heads up match, so he knew early on into it that it was going to take a while. Young's second place finish amounted to $24,584 and 37.5 valuable Global Casino Championship points. Young's point total on the season now stands at 152.5 points, which should be enough points to earn himself an at-large bid and a free seat to the 2017 Global Casino Championship based on prior year's point totals. It should be noted that this season has a record amount of Circuit stops and the number of points needed to earn one of the 50 at-large bids is expected to be higher. Last year's bubble was at 125 points. Reichard has no sweat for points as he now has 270 points on the season and holds the top spot on the leaderboard.

This was Reichard's second career WSOP victory at Council Bluffs and fourth final table. Reichard final tabled this exact same event last year. He ended up being eliminated in 6th place for $8,727.

"I really like Council Bluffs, Omaha area. I seem to run well here. Outside of the casino there is plenty to do too," said Reichard. "I always choose to come here if it's between here and something else."

Reichard is the third player this season to win three gold rings. Martin Ryan and Nate Bandy both have earned four gold rings this season.

--------

Event #3 was the third of 12 gold ring events on the WSOP Circuit schedule at Horseshoe Council Bluffs. The $365 No-Limit Hold'em Re-Entry tournament attracted 646 players generating a $193,800 prize pool. The top 72 players were paid.

The tournament featured four starting flights and unlimited re-entry. The first two starting flights were on Friday and the final two were on Saturday. Each starting flight played 15 levels. Day 2 started Sunday at noon with 79 players remaining. The tournament ended shortly before 3 a.m. near the end of Level 31.
