All three starting flights have finished and now it is time for Day 2 of Event #1: $365 No-Limit Hold'em Double Stack. The event had a $200,000 guaranteed prizepool, but that was surpassed in the final flight of the tournament and the final prizepool came to the total of $240,000.

There are 92 players returning for Day 2 from the starting field of 800 and by the end of the night there will be only one player left standing. The champion will earn $47,992, a WSOP Circuit gold ring and 50 Casino Championship points. Players enter Day 2 close to the money. The top 81 finishers will earn a cash. The full list of payouts can be found above under the "Prizepool" tab.

The players with the best shot of running deep today are the chip leaders coming into the day. The top chip count coming into Day 2 belongs to David "Bama" Walters. He has 588,000 chips. Rounding out the top five chip counts are Chris Churchwell (525,000), Benjamin Thomas (489,000), Tommy Ming Zhu (410,000) and Stephen Nussrallah (395,000). Play begins today at the start of Level 19: 3,000/6,000 with a 1,000 ante. The first three levels of the day will be 40 minutes long and then the remainder of the levels in the tournament will be 50 minutes long.

Flight C has ended and Day 2 of the tournament has been set. From Flight C 45 players remained, bringing the total number advancing to 92. The second and final day of Event #1 will see these 92 players duke it out for a WSOP gold ring and $47,992 top-prize.

Chris Churchwell

Chris Churchwell (pictured), who snagged a second-place finish in Event #2 less than 24 hours ago, has bagged as the Flight C chip leader with 525,000 chips. He trails only David "Bama" Walters, who will begin tomorrow as the overall chip leader. Cards will be in the air at 12:00 p.m.

The prizepool for Event #1 has been finalized. With 800 entries on the dot, the payouts sum comes out to $240,000, surpassing the guarantee by $40,000, with the top payout being $47,992. A total of 81 players will walk away with a payday. Here is a look at the final table payouts:

Flight C of Event #1: $365 No-Limit Hold'em Double Stack Re-Entry begins at 11 a.m. It is the final starting flight of tournament. This event has a guaranteed prizepool of $200,000. The flight needs to draw 244 players for the tournament to reach its guarantee. If it falls short of 244 there will be overlay.

Flight B has ended with 24 players bagging, bringing the total of surviving players between the first two starting flights to 47. The final starting flight (Flight C) of the tournament begins tomorrow at 11 a.m. The flight needs 244 players to reach its $200,000 guarantee. If Flight C does not reach 244 players there will be overlay.

Gold ring winner Stephen Nussrallah bagged as the chip leader in Flight A. His lead did not last long because David "Bama" Walters (pictured) ran up a huge stack in Flight B to become the overall chip leader. Walters bagged nearly 200,000 more than Nussrallah. Nussrallah sits in second place overall with one flight remaining.

Flight B is in the middle of Level 6 and there are currently 187 entries. The number will continue to grow as late registrants sign-up and players re-enter, but the event is still a ways off from reaching its $200,000 guarantee. Flight A had 201 entries, so the total number of participants currently stands at 388, more than 275 players away from reaching the guarantee. Registration will close at the start of Level 13, which will be about 6:15 p.m. and then the final flight (Flight C) of the tournament will begin tomorrow at 11 a.m.

The first flight of the $200,000 guaranteed opening event has come to a close. There are 23 players that survived the flight out of the 201 that entered. Leading the pack at the end of the day was a WSOP regular. Stephen Nussrallah is a gold ring winner and finished in third place this summer in the Monster Stack event to earn $513k. He will enter Day 2 of the tournament looking for another WSOP deep run.

One more entry was added before the end of the dinner break bringing the official Flight A total to 201 entrants. Play is scheduled to conclude when play reaches level 21, or the field is reduced to 23 players, whichever comes first.

Each night of the series at 7 p.m. will run the $135 Nightly No-Limit Hold'em event. This is just a side event and not an official gold ring event. There is plenty of value in this tournament because each nightly event leading up to the Main Event will award the winner a free $1,675 Main Event seat in addition to their share of the prizepool.

The Nightly No-Limit Hold'em event has a buy-in of $135 and is finished the same night it begins.

Event #1 adds to the BIG guarantee pool here at IP Biloxi with $200,000 of sure fire prize money. Combined with the Main Event's $500,000 guarantee to come, a total of pool of $700,000 will be guaranteed during this WSOP Circuit stop.

Currently in Flight A of Event #1 there are 158 players registered. The tournament needs a total of 667 entries to reach its guarantee, otherwise there will be overlay. Players have hit their first break and will begin level 5 when they return. Registration closes at the start of level 13.

Flight B begins tomorrow at 11:00 am. Flight C, the final chance to enter, will begin Friday at 11:00 am.

The World Series of Poker Circuit has made its way to southern Mississippi. Thursday is the beginning of the 12-event series at the IP Casino and Resort. The series will kick off with Event #1: $365 No-Limit Hold'em Double Stack Re-Entry. The first event will feature a huge $200,000 guaranteed prizepool and three starting flights. To sweeten the deal, the opening event is a double stack event. Players will start with 20,000 chips, instead of the standard 10,000 starting chip stack.

Here is the starting flight schedule for Event #1:

  • Flight A: Thursday at 11 am
  • Flight B: Friday at 11 am
  • Flight C: Saturday at 11 am

Event #1 allows players to play in all three flights and re-enter as many times as they would like. Once a player bags chips in a starting flight, they are not allowed to play in another starting flight. Players are allowed to forfeit their chip stack at the end of a flight if they wish to play in a future starting flight.

The field of the three starting flights' survivors will combine Sunday, September 12 at noon for Day 2 of the event.
