Dale Beaudoin Wins Second Ring at The Bike

28-year-old poker pro wins his second career ring after winning a two-day event in a single day.

Los Angeles, CA. (December 8, 2015) — Dale Beaudoin didn’t want to play the scheduled second day of the tournament, so he decided to finish it in one.

Beaudoin took home his second Circuit ring in the early hours of Tuesday morning by topping a field of 153 in a $365 No Limit Hold’em, taking home $12,395 in the process.

“It’s the best day of my life,” joked Beaudoin with a smile after his win. “My opponent Scott [Stewart] was really good and if I said I got unlucky, that would be a lie. I got very lucky to win.”

Beaudoin defeated Scott Stewart heads-up, denying Stewart his fifth ring, which would have moved him into a tie for fourth on the all-time ring list with four other players.

Instead, it was Beaudoin taking home his second ring, almost four years after his first. Beaudoin won his first ring in January of 2012, netting $25,391 in a $350 No Limit Hold’em Six-Max tournament at Caesars Palace.

He was happy to prove that his first ring wasn’t fluke.

“I was holding that weight on my shoulders for almost three years or so,” said Beaudoin. “I forget exactly when I won my first one.”

Beaudoin has racked up several Circuit cashes in his career, but this win gives him some extra motivation to play a few more, with his chances of earning a seat in the Global Casino Championship greatly increased.

“I think I bubbled [the National Championship] last time,” said Beaudoin. “I earned a bunch of points and bubbled the $10,000 event. So me and my buddy [Daniel Pickering] are going to travel around and play some more events and hopefully have some more success.”

It was that same buddy, Daniel Pickering, who convinced him to make his way out to the Bicycle Casino in the first place.

“He convinced me to come to Los Angeles and then two days later I’m sitting here with a ring,” said Beaudoin. “Bam!”

Beaudoin, who moved to Las Vegas to play poker full-time after Black Friday, came into the final table as one of the shorter stacks. He was able to survive long enough to reach the end of scheduled play as one of the final five players and they agreed to keep playing for another level.

By the end of that level, it was just Beaudoin and Stewart heads-up and they agreed to finish the tournament before heading home for the night. The two didn’t even make it to the next break before Beaudoin had finished off Stewart to officially take home the title.

Along with the hardware and the cash, Beaudoin earns 50 points and moves into a tie for second place in the Casino Championship race. Beaudoin is tied with Dave Banerjee, winner of the first event here, with 50 points each. Alan Myerson is currently in the lead with 60 points after a deep run in the $365 No Limit Hold’em Re-Entry event and a win in the $365 Bounty No Limit Hold’em. The winner of that title, along with the winner of the main event earns an automatic bid into the Global Casino Championship (previously called the National Championship).

The money bubble just burst and the final 18 players have re-drawn for seats at the final two tables and are all in the money. Shawn Van Asdale (pictured above) is the current chip leader with 134,000.

The final 18 are all guaranteed a payday of at least $615, but they all have their eyes on the $12,395 first place prize and the Circuit ring.

Sean Yu, last season's Rincon main event winner, is also still alive and fighting for his second bracelet and Jim Jarvis is looking for his second final table after finishing 3rd in the $365 Bounty No Limit Hold'em on Saturday.

The cage has verified the numbers and the prizepool has been announced event #4, a $365 No Limit Hold'em. With 153 players in the field, the top 18 players will be paid. A min-cash is worth $615, but the win is worth $12,395 along with the Circuit ring and 50 points in the Casino Championship race.
