The board comes    . Csik and the big blind check. Taffaro does as well and it's on the player to his left. He bets 4,000. Csik and the big blind fold. Taffaro calls and they're heads up to the turn.

The   falls on the river. Taffaro leads for 11,000. His opponent thinks for a few seconds, then mucks. As he's about to rake the pot, Taffaro shows [aj,jh] for the nuts.

According to players at the table, John Stockton opens to 7,000 from middle position. Adam Cirnigliaro calls from the cutoff and DJ MacKinnon calls from the small blind, sending three players to the flop.

MacKinnon checks the     flop and Stockton continues for 17,000. Cirnigliaro folds and it's back to MacKinnon who check-raises to 37,500. Stockton asks for count of MacKinnon's stack before announcing he is all in for around 100,000. MacKinnon, who has Stockton covered, snap-calls and shows    for a pair of tens and the nut flush draw. Stockton flips over    and is looking for help.

The   turn and   river keep MacKinnon out in front to scoop the pot and send Stockton to the rail.

Daniel Gilmer opens the button to 6,000, and Karim Baruque three-bet shoves for 64,000 in the small blind. In the big, Sara Hall calls all in for 43,000, and Gilmer tank-folds. Hall is at risk, but she's well in front.


The     flop gives Hall a set of eights, but it actually doubles Baruque's available outs. He's drawing to a five now, but the turn   and river   secure Hall's double-up.

After being down under 10,000 chips early in the day, Hall has rebounded close to six figures, and she's now back to the chip average and at her tournament high point in chips.

On the button, Conniff bets 10,700 and the big blind calls. The dealer burns and turns the   on the river, and once again, the big blind checks. Conniff bets 19,500, and after a moment, the big blind calls. Conniff tables    for two pair, tens and eights. The big blind tosses his cards into the muck and Conniff will scoop the pot.

After starting the day with 67,600, Conniff is now among the chip leaders with 266,000.

After starting the day with 39,200, Chris Csik, the defending champion of the Baltimore Main Event, is sitting with nearly 250,000 following an early double up and a couple of knockouts.

According to Cisk, he doubled up early with pocket jacks against ace-queen. Later, Csik opened from under-the-gun with    and one player called. On a     board, Csik led out and was called. Csik hit a straight on the   turn and his opponent moved all in with   . Cisk snap-called and his straight held up to send one player to the rail.

A few hands later, Csik gets it all in preflop against Trevor Deeter. Csik holds pocket jacks again versus Deeter's ace-queen. Csik hits a set of jacks on the flop and that holds up for him to scoop Deeter's stack of about 85,000.
