Day 2 of the World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event at the Palm Beach Kennel Club is in the books. It was an action-packed day, and after 10 hours of poker, the 99 players who took their seats on Sunday had been whittled down to 10. The chip leader heading into the final day of the tournament is Darryll Fish (pictured above, right), who finished Day 2 with 2,140,000 in chips.

The tournament attracted a tough and talented field, so it’s no surprise that the final table is filled with high-caliber players. Fish has 24 cashes in WSOP bracelet events, including two final-table finishes. Hans Winzeler, who is second in chips with 1,990,000, also has two final tables in bracelet events. Maurice Hawkins and Sam Panzica both have four Circuit rings, and both have previously earned rings at this venue. And last year, Jonathan Gaviao was Casino Champion at the Circuit stop in Tunica, Miss. Less than a year ago, he finished in second place in the Circuit Main Event at Caesars Palace Las Vegas.

The tournament began on Friday for Day 1A and Saturday for Day 1B, attracting a total of 537 entries. Only 99 returned for Day 2, and almost half of them left empty-handed—only the top 54 places made the money. The players reached the money bubble in the middle of the third level of the day, and after about 20 minutes of hand-for-hand play, Taylor Black was the unfortunate bubble boy. After the bubble burst, there was a quick flurry of eliminations. Ten players were eliminated in the first half hour after Black’s bustout.

Just as the list of players at the final table is impressive, so is the list of players who advanced to Day 2 but didn’t quite make it that far. They include 2010 November Niner John Dolan (24th - $6,267), two-time bracelet winner Jason Mercier (30th - $4,712), Alex Greenblatt (54th place - $3,093), Aaron Massey (52nd - $3,093), Jake Schindler (42nd - $3,375), Barry Hutter (40th - $3,375), Ralph Massey (39th - $3,375), Corey Burbick (27th - $5,397), Leo Wolpert (23rd - $6,267), Joe Kuether (19th - $7,370), and Alex Rocha (12th - $12,960).

The 537 entries in this event generated a prize pool of $805,500. The winner will earn $173,189, along with a free entry into the 2015 WSOP National Championship, tentatively scheduled for late July. Official dates and a location for the National Championship will be announced soon.

The final day of this Main Event begins Monday at 1 p.m. local time at the Palm Beach Kennel Club. The players will return at Level 26, with blinds at 15,000/30,000 and a 5,000 ante.

Here are the seat assignments and chip counts for the remaining players. Full results are available in the “Results” tab, above.
