Day 2 of the WSOP National Championship begins at 12 p.m. ET with 50 players still left to contend for the year's first bracelet and the lion's share of the seven-figure prize pool. As of now, the field stands at 124 strong but registration remains open until cards go in the air and final prize pool information will be posted shortly thereafter.
While there's no shortage of notables in the counts -- including Dominik Nitsche, Eric Baldwin, Matthew Ashton, Loni Harwood and Greg Merson -- it's the Circuit's own Jeff Gunnip (pictured) leading the pack as the only player above the 200,000 mark. Gunnip, the Palm Beach Casino Champion, rode his automatic berth all the way to Day 2 and the second leg of his journey to WSOP gold begins now.
Other Circuit notables still alive include Jessie Bryant, Pavlin Karakikov, Ryan Tepen, Yossi Azulay and Bernard lee.
The remaining players take their seats to blinds of 800/1,600 with a 200 ante. Day 2 is set to play down to the final six players who will come back tomorrow to play out the duration of the tournament in front of the ESPN cameras.
Live updates from the tournament floor will be available throughout the day right here on WSOP.com.
Full start of Day 2 chip counts are available under the Reports tab.
Good luck, players!
