Morstad Doubles on the Bubble

Thomas Morstad raised from the hijack and picked up two callers in Sander van Wesemael on the button and Milan Topoly in the big blind. The flop fell     and Topoly checked, Morstad bet 12,000 and van Wesemael raised to 29,000. Topoly called that bet and Morstad then moved all in for 77,000.

This forced out van Wesemael, but Topoly called with the superior stack. Once all other tables were completed, the cards were turned over.

Over on table 83, Theodoros Aidonopoulos and Viktor Kovachev were eliminated in the same hand to narrowly miss out on the money while Matous Houzvicek and Milan Topoly were more fortunate.

Houzvicek won a big flip for 75,500 with    against the    of Viktor Katzenberger on a board of      .

Topoly faced a raise by Sander van Wesemael to 8,000 and the call by Konstantinos Tsirakidis. Topoly shoved for 49,000 and van Wesemael folded, Tsirakidis eventually called.

Weber Shows Pocket Nines

Vlado Sevo was moved tables and raised to 8,000. Alexander Schlien three-bet all in for 34,000 from one seat over. Sevo folded and the pot was shipped to Schlien.

One table over, Helma Weber's raise was followed by a three-bet to 26,000 in the hijack by Vincent Moscati. Weber shoved for 89,000 and Moscati folded, he was then shown   . "I don't think she would do that with that," Moscati said somewhat puzzled.

Bojang Busts Rabotkin

Eddy Scharf and Dzmitry Rabotkin won't be making the money in the Monster Stack after both just busted at the end of the previous level. Rabotkin fell victim to the hot run of Ismael Bojang, who called Rabotkin's shove for 40,000 from the cutoff.

The board of       left Rabotkin drawing dead on the turn and he headed to the rail. When asked, Bojang simply replied "I haven't lost a hand so far today." The German, now living in Vienna, is the run away chip leader after the first level of the day.

Valentin Vornicu raised to 7,000 and Yehuda Cohen called on the button. The short-handed table saw the shove of Tezer Cetindag in the big blind after and Vornicu turned around to the screens, then eventually folded. Cohen gave it brief consideration and called with the words "I give you a chance."

Sevo Cut Down

Vlado Sevo started the day above average but that has since changed. First he had to give up a pot on the      turn.

One orbit later Sevo got into a bigger pot with Rene Crha and the duo headed to the       river with more than 70,000 in the middle already. Sevo checked from the small blind and Crha bet 35,000 from late position. Sevo carefully counted his remaining stack and elected to fold.

Walid Abdi Ali opened to 7,000 from early position and Viktor Kovachev called from middle position. Theodoros Aidonopoulos shipped all-in for 62,000 in the cutoff and the action was on Sasa Stancic in the small blind. He thought for a couple moments, talking to himself, before finally pushing all-in for his last 41,000. Both Abdi Ali and Kovachev folded and the remaining two hands were tabled.

With a min cash, Ryan Hughes would be taking over the top spot in the current Player of the Year rankings and the American is on the best way there with an above-average stack. Balint Forces Rajkovic to Fold Top Pair

Olivian Balint opened to 7,000 from early position and Adi Rajkovic called on the button. The flop fell     and Balint check-called a bet of 7,000 from Rajkovic.

The   landed on the turn and Balint led out for 9,500. Rajkovic made the call and the   completed the board. Balint moved all-in for 24,000 and Rajkovic went into the tank. Fellow Canadians Duking It Out

Fellow Canadians, Mike Leah and Jeff Cormier, have found themselves seated next to each other at the start of Day 2. Both have aggressive styles of play and it's no surprise they got involved in a hand early on.

Mike Leah raised to 7,500 on the button and Jeff Cormier called from the small blind. The flop came     and both players checked to the   on the turn. Cormier led out for 8,000 and Leah called to see the   on the river.
