Phil Hellmuth Seeing Red
Phil Hellmuth limps in from the small blind, and Daniel Colman raises to 225,000 from the big. Hellmuth calls.
The flop comes , and Hellmuth check-calls a continuation bet. He checks again after the turn, and Colman bets another 400,000. Hellmuth drops his glasses on the floor. "I told myself I wasn't going to fold," he says. "I think I might have to let you bluff me one more time. Then I hit you for a million in one pot." With that, he folds.
"Phil, I'm not bluffing you," Colman says with some sincerity. "I'm not." He leaves the pot piled in front of him as he and Hellmuth share a short conversation. "I bluffed you once, and I haven't done it since. I'm not bluffing you." He flashes , but it does little to stop the Hellmuth tirade, which continues through the next shuffle and deal.
When the next hand is dealt, Hellmuth opens to 275,000 on the button, and Colman three-bets to 650,000 in the small blind. Hellmuth folds quickly, and adds, "That's your last bluff." Colman shows , much to Brian Hastings' delight.
Thanks to those pots, Colman has leapfrogged Hellmuth in the counts once again.
Daniel Colman - 4,490,000
Phil Hellmuth - 3,950,000
