Phil Hellmuth Spars With Mustapha Kanit

Mustapha Kanit raises from the small blind and Phil Hellmuth puts in a three-bet from the big blind. Kanit calls and they see a flop of    . Kanit checks and Hellmuth bets 38,000. Kanit check-raises to 81,000 and Hellmuth goes into the tank. Hellmuth asks Kanit how much he started the hand with and then double checks his hole cards.

After about 90 seconds in the tank, Hellmuth announces a raise and puts out 125,000. He asks the dealer to pull in the 81,000 and gives a visual to Kanit that it is 44,000 more to call. Kanit calls and the turn is the  . Kanit checks and Hellmuth bets 150,000. Kanit check-calls and the dealer peels off the   on the river. Both players check.

"King is good," said Hellmuth without turning his hand over.

"Why do we try and bluff the amateurs," said Hellmuth after the hand. "They are going to give you 500K with a king and no kicker."

"I traveled a long way to play the tournament," said Kanit. "I just want to enjoy myself and play some hands."

"I'm not mad at you," said Hellmuth. "I'm mad at myself. You keep doing what you're doing and I'll keep doing what I'm doing. I bust people who play king-nine."
