Big Hand Helps Abe Mosseri Rebound
Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo
David Baker, Joe Cassidy, and Abe Mosseri are involved in a three-way pot on fourth street. This hand will take nearly 10 full minutes to play out from start to finish.
Baker: (X)(X) / - fold
Cassidy: (X)(X) / / (X)
Mosseri: (X)(X) / / (X)
Cassidy checks his lead on fourth street, and Mosseri bets 30,000. Baker and Cassidy call. Baker pairs his fives to lead on fifth street, and he checks. Cassidy does too, and Mosseri bets 60,000. Baker folds, and Cassidy tank-calls. Mosseri picks up an open pair of nines on sixth street, and he bets again. Cassidy is showing four spades on his board and some suspicion on his face. He tank-calls again. Mosseri bets seventh street, too, and Cassidy sinks deep into the tank. He has about 180,000 chips left in front of him, and he verbally tries to sort it out.
"You have four nines?" he asks rhetorically. "Or aces full?" Mosseri sits as still as a statue with one hand under his chin. It must be at least five or seven minutes before Cassidy slides his cards into the muck.
Mosseri smirks and nods at Cassidy. He flashes , showing aces full as he takes the pot. Cassidy now owns the shortest stack in the room.
Abe Mosseri - 630,000
Joe Cassidy - 180,000
