Cory Waaland "Accidentally" Becomes Chip Leader

Cory Waaland is the first player to break 100,000 chips.

He says, shortly after the dinner break he put his head phones in. On one of the first few hands, a player went all in for roughly about 8,500. Waaland says he didn't hear the all in, because of the head phones and announced raise. Since he called raise, he was forced to raise the minimum at least, which was about 17,000.

He told the table repeatedly that it wasn't an angle, that he didn't hear the player announce all in before he called raise. The big blind was agonizing, hoping that he didn't have a hand, but Waaland says he shoves all in for 28,0000.

Even though Waaland had queens and intended to raise, he says he probably won a bigger pot than he would have if he had heard the initial all in from the player with pocket twos.

Waaland has 100,000 chips, so however the board played out, his queens held. Putting him in the chip lead and knocking out two players.
