Slow Play?
As you would expect, with a pay jump of nearly $12,000, the action has slowed down. James Rann just tried an interesting tactic in a hand with Asi Moshe. He raised to 950,000, leaving 20,000 behind, and Moshe called. The flop was and Moshe made a minimum bet of 160,000 to put Rann all-in.
Rann then went into the tank but his attention was focused on the other tables rather than his own hand. It became clear that he was waiting to see if someone would bust. Moshe, in a surprising move, did not call the clock and neither did anyone else. Maurice Hawkins on another table eventually realised what was taking place after over five minutes had passed, and asked the Tournament Supervisor about a solution - play hand-for-hand. This was agreed and the other tables paused at the end of their hands.
Rann was made aware of this, so called and tabled . Moshe had and the turn gave Rann a pair, the , but the on the river meant the pot was chopped. Rann openly admitted that if any player on his table had called the clock he would have called straight away, and the Tournament Staff have now told all three tables that they are prepared to go hand-for-hand in this situation should it occur again.
