New Look, Same Jake Cody
Jake Cody pictured in yesterday's Event #32 looks to make his first cash of the summer in Event #34.
Jake Cody has been absent from the first third of this year's World Series of Poker but judging by his new look, maybe we were just searching for the wrong thing while walking the seas of tournament tables on the look out for the PokerStars Team Pro.
Cody, who has a WSOP bracelet on top of nearly every other major victory a poker player could imagine, has had the same shaggy haircut for the last few years.
This summer though, maybe to combat the sweltering Las Vegas heat, he's gone with a more clean cut look which would likely allowed him to blend into the crowds a little more than usual, although his PokerStars patch certainly doesn't.
That look, and patch, were on display yesterday, as Cody attempted to make his first WSOP cash of the summer in the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Six Max event. Unfortunately, he failed to bag up chips but he'll have another shot at the six max structure in this event, if he's able to advance to Day 2.
He looks like he's off to a good start, currently playing just under 10,000 and will certainly be a player to watch throughout the rest of this event and series.
