They're Playing the Wrong Game at Table 381
The player under the gun opens with a raise to 600, and Terrence Chan three-bets to 900 from the small blind. His opponent calls.
Chan slides one card forward for his discard, and his opponent slides out two. That's where things go a little awry. The dealer burns a card and then deals out a flop! He immediately realizes what he's done, and he and the table can't help but giggle in unison at the mistake. It's not the first strange thing that's happened so far tonight.
"Floor!"
"I went on vacation early and dealt a flop," the dealer admits quickly to the man in the suit. He's trying to contain his embarrassment, but he and the rest of the table can't help but be amused by the situation.
As they're waiting for the decision, Chan and his opponent make light of the issue. "I guess we're not improving, so I bet," Chan laughs. The floorman rules that the three exposed cards will be reshuffled with the remainder of the stub, and the hand will play out normally.
Chan's bet is quickly called on that street, but his opponent folds to the big bet of 600 after Chan pats the next round. The table and the dealer are still laughing and shaking their heads as Chan stacks up that little pot.
