Allen Kessler Is Already In The Money
Not really, but after making a bet with a "that guy over there with the beard and the glasses", who was seated at Kessler's table at the start of play today, Kessler is now $10 richer, after correctly picking the winner of the $10,000 Razz Championship which ended just over an hour ago.
Kessler and the "guy with the beard and glasses" each picked two players at the final table and Kessler was actually free rolling when play got to heads up, as he had Phil Hellmuth, the eventual winner and runner up finisher Mike Gorodinsky in the pool.
While Kessler's $10 probably won't go very far, maybe affording him a coffee or breakfast tomorrow morning, the official Event #21 prize pool has just been announced, with close to $1,500,000 up for grabs with 18 players making the money.
Those 18 players will all lock up a just under $21,000 score but everyone in this field will surely have their sights set at the top of those payouts, as 1st place will earn just over $390,000 and a WSOP gold bracelet.

This field is a ways away from that money bubble, but to get there players will have to first make Day 2, which means getting through another hour and fifteen minutes before bagging up to end this Day 1 session.
