Essex Escalates in Popularity Since Chris Moorman Moves to L.A.
Chris Moorman, while discussing home towns, was surprised to hear that - in his absence - his home town of Essex has become a highly sought after place to be, and be seen.
Formerly the butt of jokes involving white stilettos and stupidity, Essex has risen in popularity thanks to reality TV show The Only Way is Essex. The show is responsible for phrases such as "well jel" (extremely jealous) and "ream" (awesome) infiltrating the English language.
Along with "shut up!" ("I don't believe it!") these have become integral to the vocabulary of those aspiring to a place on the guest list of popular Essex nightclubs Sugar Hut and Faces.
Moorman is the all-time leader in career online poker tournament earnings, he was amongst the leaders in the 2011 WSOP Player of the Year point standings and he has a WPT title under his belt.
Moorman may appear to be living the dream - but can the glamour of L.A. compete with Brentwood in Essex?
