A Seed Grows
Huckleberry Seed is seen wandering through the maze of tables to tell a friend a tale of woe.
"First hand," says Seed in an emotionless tone. "I'm out... shoved 5,000 and got called by jack-nine offsuit."
As Seed continues the postmortem a member of the tournament staff passes by and offers an unexpected reprieve.
"You still got chips Huck," he tells the man with a banner hanging from the Rio rafters. "Get back over there."
"I do?" replies Seed, already abandoning his bad beat story to rush back to the scene of the crime. "How many?"
After arriving back at his table to find his last 275 laying in wait, Seed sits down just in time to take the small blind - which immediately absorbs 200 of that sum. The pot is contested between multiple players, and Seed's 275 contribution to the main pot gives him a shot to inch back over the 1,000-chip mark, if he can find a way to win at showdown.
The completed board reads , and Seed barely takes his eyes away from his phone screen as the betting rounds roll by. When one player forces the rest out with a river bet, showing down for top pair/top kicker, Seed finally looks up to survey the situation, before shrugging and tabling for a flopped set of deuces.
