EVENT UPDATE

Monday, April 14, 2025 5:01 AM Local Time (about 14 days and 13 hours ago)
$175k awaits for the winner of the WSOPC Main Event!

From a field of 637 players over three starting days, to just 68 at the beginning of yesterday, to just 6 players returning at high noon today. Event #10: $1,700 Main Event has seen quite the progression over the past few days while the stage was being set for the ultimate showdown of the WSOPC Elgin's crown jewel.

Leading the way is Steve Wangler (6,805,000), who spent much of the day with a picture of his seven grandkids. Sitting right behind him is WSOPC ring winner Steve Buell (6,350,000) hailing from Wisconsin. Derek Hanauer (4,660,000) finished second in the WSOPC Hammond Main Event in 2019 and he looks to do one better then that score today. Ian Greendale (3,000,000) has cashed in 7 of the events here at Elgin this stop so far, yet to claim his first WSOPC ring. Matthew Lubawski has already secured a career best cash wherever he finishes here today. Jason Flock (1,915,000) final tabled a WSOPC event just a few weeks ago and will be looking to better that cash here today.

These six are the final contenders for the plaque up on the wall of winners here at Grand Victoria Casino.
