A Dozen Enter, Only One Leaves as Champion

Twelve players have advanced to Day 3 of Event #16: $1,700 No Limit Holdem Main Event and will play to determine the winner on Tuesday at 12 p.m. local time. A total of 131 players participated in Day 2, hoping to get one step closer to winning a World Series of Poker Main Event Ring but it is now down to a dozen. All the players have secured a minimum of $14,278 from the $1,013,535 prize pool, but they all have their eyes on the top prize of $192,831.

Every player still has just as much a chance to win as the next but there are certainly some to look out for. Nick Marchington led the chip count for most of the day and will start Day 3 in a comfortable fourth position. Peter Hengsakul has already made it to the heads-up for a ring in this series and will be looking to repeat the feat on Day 3. WSOP bracelet winner Giuseppe Pantaleo is currently in pole position with a healthy stack of 2,800,000, but he is being closely followed by other players. Italy's Mario Colavita is hanging tough with 2,490,000, and Kevin Calenzo is in third place with 2,390,000 chips.
