WSOP Circuit Tulsa $1,700 Main Event Begins Friday
The WSOP Circuit series at Hard Rock Tulsa has been heating up since late last week and it’s now time for the big one, the $1,700 Main Event.
The first of two opening flights gets cards in the air at 11 a.m. CT. Play is scheduled for 16 40-minute levels, or until 16% of the field remains (just short of the money), with surviving players from each opening flight returning on Sunday for Day 2 at noon.
From there, ten 60-minute levels are scheduled for Day 2, with the final day of play Monday, also at noon.
Last fall’s Tulsa Circuit Main Event saw Mark Barrientos defeat a field of 397 entries to claim his 2nd WSOP Circuit ring along with the $126,900 first prize.
Also at that final table was this series’ Event #2: $250 No-Limit Hold ‘em champ Brent Gregory who finished 3rd, along with Circuit ring winners Tomas Teran (6th) Mark Martin (7th), and Angela Jordison (8th).
Last year’s spring Main Event here in Tulsa was an even bigger success, drawing 476 entries, with John Lopez collecting $145,876 and a ring for his triumph.
That final table had more than its share of notables as well with Richard Gebhart finishing runner-up amidst a table of no less than eight Circuit ring winners.
Here are the key details of the Main Event:
- $1,700 buy-in / 40,000 starting chips (200 BB)
- 40-minute levels on Day 1, 60-minute levels on Day 2 and 3
- Registration and a single re-entry per opening flight are open until the start of Level 13 (approx. 9 p.m.)
- Players may forfeit their stack to re-enter
- Players will receive a 15-minute break after every two hours of play. There will be a 90-minute dinner break after 6 hours of play on Days 1 and 2
- Day 1s will play until the end of Level 16 or until 16% of the field remains, whichever comes first unless otherwise announced by tournament staff
