Soheb Porbandarwala Bags the Chip Lead at the Main Event Final TablE!

The Main Event has seen the beginning and end of three starting flights and a Day 2 session and after starting with 986 total entries, the field has boiled itself down to a final table of just 8 players returning tomorrow to play down to a champion.

When play resumes at noon, the chip leader will be Soheb Porbandarwala, a highly decorated player that already owns 11 WSOP Circuit rings, a WSOP bracelet and $1,500,000 in live tournament earnings, $900,000 of which came at the WSOP. Thanks to Porbandarwala having eliminated Brian Batt on the final hand of play, he will bring a mountain of chips totaling 11,120,000, nearly double his nearest competitor and while he already has 11 rings at home, adding one more is currently at the top of his to-do list.

Brad Coultas is the player who will be second on the totem pole when play starts, coming back to 6,955,000, and it's going to take every chip and play at his disposal to cut Porbandarwala down and flip the counts to end out on top. He is certainly capable of closing it out, though, as proven by his $164,000 in WSOP earnings and a circuit ring of his own.

Rounding out the top three counts is Hussain Sajwani who will sit behind 6,130,000 and share the same goal as the rest of the table; taking home the title by day's end. Sajwani holds two WSOP Circuit rings as well, yet another indicator of how stacked this final table really is.

Final Table Chip Counts:

1: Soheb Porbandarwala - 11,120,000
2: Brad Coultas - 6,955,000
3: Hussain Sajwani - 6,130,000
4: Brian Altman - 6,070,000
5: Richard Bai - 3,355,000
6: Adam Greenberg - 2,285,000
7: Jonathan Seely - 2,010,000
8: Eric Adelstein - 1,520,000

There are a total of 19 circuit rings that found a seat at the final table with four of them belonging to Brian Altman, who also has by far the most live career earnings with $8,000,000. Richard Bai and Hussain Sajwani both hold two rings of their own meaning half the remaining players will be gunning to increase their ring count while the other half will be chasing their first.

As mentioned, the final table kicks off at noon and play will continue until a champion is crowned and with the level of talent at this final table, we are certain to see fireworks and high level play on the road leading to the moment the final card falls.
