EVENT UPDATE

Final Day of Cherokee Main Event Starts with 19 Left

Andrew Moreno

Here it is! It's time for Day 3 of the Cherokee Main Event which returns with still 19 players left in what will be a full day of action as the remaining players look to battle for the $383,856 top prize.

It's hard to believe the third of four WSOP Circuit Cherokee stops is almost in the books, but here we are!Just 19 players remain on Day 3 of the Main Event, and it's going to be an exciting day. One of the most familiar faces, Andrew Moreno, sits atop the counts with a lengthy lead with 10,360,000 and looks to win his very first WSOPC ring. Shocked? Well, you'll continue to be shocked knowing Adam Hendrix has also yet to win a ring, sitting in third.

Dale Roesel

We didn't skip second in chips, Dale Roesel, on purpose. He's in a paragraph of his own, because he's had a phenomenal run lately. Run it back to November 2023 right here at Cherokee where he shipped Event #4 for his second ring, followed by 8th place in the Main Event just days later. Thought he was done? Nope. He finished 2nd place at The Wynn in Vegas in a $3,000 event for $640,000+, took a little break and finished in 2nd place in the WSOPC Tunica Main Event for over $100,000. Stay tuned to find out if he makes back-to-back Cherokee final tables and third overall (6th place finish in the Cherokee Main in Feb, 2022)., and if he wins ring #3.

Tyler Barnes and David Yue round out the top five chip counts.

Two-time ring (and bracelet!) winner Michael Wang is 6th in chips while 15-ring winner Maurice Hawkins sits in 8th place with a serious shot at ring #16.

Maurice Hawkins

Notables Gabriel Andrade, Zach Gilbert, David Dowdy, Ryan D'Angelo and Zak Vankeuren remain alive in contention as well.

Play begins at 12 noon with a nearly $4,000 pay jump right off the bat. PokerOrg will have all the updates for you on instant.poker.org as the day plays out!
