Jore Martinez Wins Event #7 For $53,441
Jorge Martinez won his first ring for $53,441 as he conquered the large 940 player field to make for the third biggest first place prize winner of this series so far.
He did so by overcoming a big heads up deficit as John Oan Kim dominated the final table until that point, holding the big chip lead for the entire time. But Martinez was able to flip the tables after about 45 minutes and finish it off with a dymanic two-pair over two pair hand that gave Martinez the win.
The 58 year old Miami native pumped his fist and celebrated as the last card was dealt and also was stoked to be qualified for the tournament of champions.
He had a few simple words after the win "I am so happy to win. My first ring baby, representing here in Miami."
