Hamid Izadi clinches 6th WSOPC Ring in Black Chip Bounty
The Black Chip Bounty event was scheduled for two days but the fast action in Tunica saw the field rip towards the final table in record time. Once there, it was clear the final table was going to play out tonight, rather than return a Day 2 when the Main Event starts on Friday.
Hamid Izadi came to the table near the chip lead and with the edge on experience. The Atlanta-based business owner brought five rings and over $800,000 in WSOP earnings to the final table. He avoided any huge chip blunders, built a stack where he was never really in danger and clinched his sixth WSOPC ring.
"It feels great," he said. "I have several bounties, I have another ring and this another achievement that makes me happy. I came back from Atlanta this morning to this event and the Main Event."
"I love coming to the WSOP to play, some of my favorite dealers are here," he said. "I'll be going to the Pompano Beach stop next and then Cherokee after that. I've got another final table coming for sure."
Runner-up Jared Ward has a ring and 37 cashes to his credit and the final four players had a combined 211 WSOP cashes. RunGood Tour Exec Hayley Hochstetler finished in 7th place for her fourth cash and third final table.
