Maxwell Young Wins 8th WSOP Circuit Ring in Knockout Bounty Event

8-Time WSOP Circuit Ring Winner and Event #13 Champion Maxwell Young

While everyone else was chasing bounties in Event #13: $1,125 No-Limit Hold ‘em Knockout Bounty, Maxwell Young went chasing WSOP Circuit ring number 8… and bounties.

Young collected 13 of them worth $6,500 to go along with the $20,870 he collected for earning his 8th WSOP Circuit ring by defeating a field of 161 entries to win the event. He also earns entry into the WSOP Tournament of Champions this summer in Las Vegas.

The ring is Young’s first since August 2022 when he took home over $100,000 for winning the $2,200 High Roller event in Cherokee, North Carolina. Young says the combination of his first WSOP win in almost 18 months along with doing it in a venue he hasn’t had a lot of success in made the win that much sweeter.

“It’s been a little while, and because I haven’t been able to do well here at Thunder Valley, it feels really nice. Before today, of all the casinos on this great planet, this was my losingest location so I’m very happy to change that.”

The win comes in one of the more unique events at a WSOP Circuit stop where half of the entire prizepool (in this case $161,000) goes toward the bounties, making collecting them a priority to accentuate profit.

When asked for advice for players entering events like this in the future, the champion simply stated,

“I would say lean toward being all in.”
