Ari Engel Wins Record 16th WSOPC RIng
Ari Engel won his record-breaking 16th WSOP Circuit ring at the Horseshoe Hammond in Event #7: $400 Omaha Eight or Better. Engel was tied with Maurice Hawkins with 15 rings and pulled ahead with his 180th overall WSOPC cash for $10,749.
"It's obviously nice to win," Engel said. "But my heart is in Jerusalem right now, so it's bittersweet. I've been playing a lot of these tournaments and it's definitely better to win them than lose."
"I really like Omaha 8 but I'm definitely not a top Mixed Game player," he added. "Maurice (Hawkins), Josh (Reichard) and Dan Lowery all have much better ratios when it comes to tournaments played versus rings. I play a lot more than them. They're records are good and they're good players."
True to his nature, before the ink was dry on his cash out voucher, Engel was late-registering the $600 Six-Max that began at 5:00pm.
