Ed Smith Wins Event #5: $600 H.O.R.S.E. ($11,080)
Ed Smith came into today as the chip leader with eight remaining. He rode that lead all the way to a title and his first WSOP Circuit ring, along with $11,080.
"My favorite of the HORSE games is the one I run the worst at," said Smith. "Stud 8."
Smith has been around the block in WSOP events for a while, and he specializes in the mixed-game events. He's played with one of his tablemates, Norman Chad, before.
"I've been playing World Series of Poker events since 1993," said Smith. "Played with Mikey, Daniel, and Scotty, and all the boys. Norman's no different than anybody else."
He had a tough table to get through to lock up the ring, including Christina Hung who came in second, and Norman Chad who came in fourth.
"Christina is a good player, she's tough," said Smith, after eliminating her heads-up moments before.
