The $250 Ladies Event at WSOPC Tulsa drew out an even field of 100 players to create an even prizepool of $20,000. Only 15 of those players were guaranteed a cash with the first place prize climbing to $5,865.
To continue her wonderful year, Christina Read came out as the victor to claim her first WSOPC ring.
"It's amazing, I still can't believe it actually happened. But it did, I was here," the new champion remarked, referring to her close calls to WSOP circuit rings in the past.
Read topped a final table that included defending champion Ashley "PokerFaceAsh" Frank and last year's runner up Christina Steger. Frank and Steger finished third and second this year.
"I had a really bad last quarter of last year and I decided that I was going to take a few months off and really think about everything. I decided that I was either going to make this happen, or I wasn't going to play anymore. I spent two months studying, and since then I have cashed 85% of my tournaments with 50% of them being final tables. So I think what I was studying really worked!"
With this ring, Read also wins a seat to the WSOP 2024 Tournament of champions
"Oh I'm definitely going out to Vegas. I just want to thank everyone, my husband, my family, and all of my fans who have been cheering for me to get this ring."
